About MCUID

MCUID is being built to help developers discover hardware, distinguish board revisions and understand pins in context.

Chip capabilities, module connections and board headers describe different layers of hardware. A board revision can change which GPIO drives an onboard component.

For example, the official ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 guides document the RGB LED on GPIO48 for v1.0 and GPIO38 for v1.1. Confirm the revision of your board before using a pin assignment.
